My Fitness Journey

Closet Porker to Public Fitness Coach

This is my journey (in progress) from Fat to Fit.  There is 50 pounds less of me to carry around, and in only six months I have transformed from a “pear” to an “hour glass” shape that I haven’t had in years!



I used to be one of those people who would hide what I was eating.  Every day when my husband was at work, I would go to a bakery.  There I would have to make a difficult decision.  Do I get Chocolate Cake, Lemon Cake, or a Raspberry Wedge?  If I couldn’t decide, I’d get all three.  They never made it home, because I’d eat them in the car.


I’d have my husband bring home a package of Double Stuffed Oreo’s and I’d sit down in front of the TV and eat nearly the whole package by myself!  I never even thought about all of the calories I was stuffing in.  


I would regularly go to Burger King and get two Whoppers with cheese and an apple pie.  Then I’d drive to the local cemetery to eat them, because I didn’t want anybody to know that I was eating that much food.  Often one of my friends would call me after I’d gorged myself and she would invite me to go out to lunch.  When that happened, I’d go with her and eat lunch again.



I was such a regular customer at Taco Bell and McDonalds that if I was out of town for a couple of days, the people at the drive through window would ask why I hadn’t been in for a while.




There’s more… but you get the idea.  I was really addicted to food.  And I ate fast food almost all the time.  In those days my husband traveled three days a week.  When he was gone, I’d eat out and so would my kids.



It was expensive, it was unhealthy, but it was addicting. I didn’t think I could ever change.  I didn’t have the energy to get a job or even clean my house most of the time.  I just felt like lying in bed all day, and I usually did.



That’s the person I used to be.  Lazy, unhealthy, expensive to feed, and locked into a hopeless cycle that I thought was impossible to break.



Then a friend told me about Shakeology.  I like chocolate, so I was willing to give it a try.  It tasted good, and my friend was losing weight.  I’ve never been able to lose weight… EVER! 






I’ll never forget the day I told my husband I wanted to start using Shakeology.  I didn’t just get the powder.  When I started, I joined a "Fitness Challenge.It wasn’t cheap.  And I bought it the day after my husband lost his job.  I insisted that while it was about $4 a meal, it was cheaper than I was spending on food.  So even though he was unemployed, it would be less money and I would be healthier.



A lot of people complain about the cost of Shakeology.  I think they are really missing the big picture.  What’s the cost of staying right where you are?



What is the cost of poor health?  What is the cost of having no energy?  What is the cost of leaving important things in your life to be ignored, like work, family, and your home?  And when you look at it, you will probably save money on food.

Now I don't need my cholesterol medicine or my blood pressure medicine any more.  Now I have the energy to hold down a job and take care of my family.  I work out all the time, and I am toning like never before.  I haven’t reached my goal yet, but I am already a completely new personI’m half way to my goal, and helping you to reach your goals is helping me.
